Comic pair film Gone Fishing at Bemersyde

In October 2019 Tinseltown descended on Bemersyde to film series 3 of BBC 2's much-loved and gently comic Gone Fishing.
The first episode airs this Sunday 23 August at 8pm and we're greatly looking forward to watching the programme.

Ghillie, Ian Farr, was present throughout the day guiding comedians Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse in their quest to catch a salmon on the River Tweed. Ian said of the day's events, "It was great fun having Gone Fishing filmed at Bemersyde. Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse were absolutely friendly and the Tweed was looking terrific that day.  The crew said that one of the great things about making the programme is all the beautiful places they get to visit.

“I understand that it’s a very exciting episode although obviously I can’t give anything away!

“Gone Fishing is about the joy of fishing and how good it is for body and soul. Often people come to Bemersyde quite knotted and stressed, but a day on the river calms them down.“

Thank you to The Border Telegraph and Southern Reporter for covering the series' launch.
